To replace the batteries in the sensor, proceed as follows:

1. Loosen the screws for the battery cover.
2. Remove the batteries.
3. Insert new batteries. Be sure to turn the batteries the right way!
4. Screw the battery cover back on.

Test functionality by checking the LEDs in the front of the sensor. It should turn orange when the lid is opened and blue when it's closed.
